Manufacturing Hiring Event

Curious about a career in manufacturing?

On Saturday, May 11th, Kinexus, in partnership with the Manufacturing Education Awareness Group (MEAG), will be holding a Hiring Event at Bridgman High School.

This isn’t your run-of-the-mill job fair. This event offers opportunities for youth and adults that typically aren’t found at hiring events: summer jobs, internships, co-ops, apprenticeships, and more. Instead of just a one-off role, job seekers can jumpstart their futures by meeting, applying, and interviewing with companies that are looking to build talent.

“This hiring event has opportunities for students, and the general public, to gain apprenticeships, summer jobs, internships- the start to their career ladder. It’s so important for them to learn about the alternatives to traditional pathways. Leading area employers are offering up true career pathways during this event,” said Shane Peters, Superintendent of Bridgman Public Schools, where the event will take place.

Shane Peters, along with Tim Tate and Dave Goodenough from Edgewater Automation created the MEAG group in 2018 as a way to connect educators and manufacturers in order to build a talent pipeline for the local manufacturing sector. In partnership with Kinexus, they organized a Working Together Tour. The tour gave students and their parents the opportunity to visit local manufacturers to see what goes on behind the scenes and what a career in manufacturing looks like. This Hiring Event will be a follow up to the tour, in an effort to close the circle and fill the skill shortage gap.

You can learn more on the Kinexus Facebook @KinexusGroup about the employers attending. The event will take place Saturday, May 11th from 10 AM – 2 PM, at Bridgman High School, 9964 Gast Rd., Bridgman, MI. You should be prepared for on-the-spot interviews with your resume and smart attire.
