OFFENDER SUCCESS
Offender Success is a statewide program implemented by the Michigan Department of Corrections that assists recently paroled offenders to transition back into society. We have one of the most successful program regions in the state. Our program covers region eight, which is comprised of seven counties, including Berrien, Cass, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Calhoun, and Branch.

To get help individuals with a successful transition back into our communities, we focus on four different types of services:
-
Job Placement
-
Residential Stability
-
Health and Behavioral Health
-
Social Support
Providing supervision and support during this period of transition is vital for decreasing recidivism rates. We are proud to say that we have seen the following results from program year 2019:
-
190 individuals placed into employment
-
With over 80 area businesses
Offender Success is a great talent resource for local employers in our region. If you are not currently someone who hires ex-offenders, we offer “try-out-employment” where we will subsidize the wages of the individual for a given amount of time to give the employer a chance to evaluate for job fit. On the job training is a great tool for employers and participants alike.
