Healthcare Training Info Session

Michigan Works! Berrien, Cass, Van Buren is offering a free 12-week training program for individuals interested in a career as a community healthcare worker, with a focus on behavioral health.

This training program will help jobseekers gain two in-demand healthcare credentials and be prepared for a new career in healthcare.

Graduates of this program will be equipped to build a stronger connection to mental health resources, distribute health resources and information, and help create safer, healthier communities. Training is available to you at no cost!

Eligibility requirements:

• 18 years or older
• Currently reside in Benton Harbor (49022)
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a clean criminal background

Here's what you can expect:

The 12-week training program is divided into two parts:

Part 1: Community Healthcare Worker training

This portion of the training is two days a week from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for 8 weeks. It also includes a 40-hour internship at a local healthcare organization.

Part 2: Behavioral Healthcare training

This portion of the training is a 4-day a week commitment, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for 4 weeks.

How to get started:

• Register for one of the two information sessions taking place on March 6 at miworks.org/events
• March 6 from 10-11 AM
• March 6 from 2-3 PM
• Apply for the program by March 13
• Classes start March 19

Bring these documents to the info session to get started right away:

• Driver’s License
• Social Security Card,
• 2 Weeks of Pay Stubs
