Manufacturing on the Rise Event Scheduled
February 9, 2012, Benton Harbor, Michigan – The Michigan Works office in Benton Harbor will host a Manufacturing on the Rise event Thursday, February 23rd from 7:30-9:00 a.m. The event, also sponsored by the Sustainable Research Group, the Southwestern Michigan Economic Growth Alliance, and the Berrien County Manufacturers Council, will provide information to manufacturers on the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center’s E3 (economy, energy, environment) initiative.
In collaboration with local communities, E3 provides manufacturers with customized, hands-on assessments of production processes to reduce energy consumption, minimize their carbon footprint, prevent pollution, increase productivity, and drive innovation. As a result, E3:
• Promotes sustainable manufacturing and growth through innovative technology.
• Reduces environmental impact while regaining a competitive advantage.
• Helps foster a smarter and more efficient green workforce.
• Improves the regional economy by retaining jobs in companies that are better positioned for global competition.
